Greeting of Leif H. Sjöström

I have known Tommy >TC< Carlsson for several years now. Although he is a fellow countryman from Sweden, I did not meet him in Sweden but in Hamburg, during my term of office as the consul general of the Kingdom of Sweden in Germany. It was a pleasure for me to open several of his exhibitions in Hamburg in the nineties with a few initiatory words, and therefore it is just as well a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to accompany the presentation of his new international website with a few remarks.

From the first moment on I have learned to appreciate Tommy >TC< Carlsson and his works and with great interest I have followed the development of his talent and the artistic maturity, which he has gained since then in his painting. I am impressed by the fascinating way in which he captures motifs, correlates them and makes them directly perceptible, and thus brings them closer to the viewer, combined with a physical seeming power of illustration and a profound humour.

As an artist as well as a person Tommy >TC< Carlsson is an outstanding representative for his country, which he lets recur in his motifs. The objects of his artistic illustration are lively, tell their own story and appeal to the viewers directly and indirectly, and fire their imagination. At the same time they exude a calm beauty, an effect, which my wife and I especially value.

I wish Tommy >TC< Carlsson great artistic success and all the best for him personally.
